GMA (Greek Maritime Association) reports that many boat owners who keep their boats in Greece are considering leaving Greece for Turkey and Croatia due to the recent tax changes. Greece was for many years 'heaven' for boat owners and this now has changed making Greece less competitive than Turkey and Croatia. In addition, the local authorities will be able to confiscate boats if tax has not been paid. No doubt, this will increase an interest in Croatian marinas.
