The US Conde Nast Traveller Magazine has published the list of top 10 places to visit in Europe in 2021. Amongst beautiful Greek Islands and stunning Slovenian lakes and hills, Dubrovnik has been selected as one of the top historical sites to visit in 2021. A city with a long and rich history (did you know that Dubrovnik had one of the oldest quarantine systems?), is a feast for one's eyes and ought to be seen in 2021. The best time to visit the Old Town is either May or September. The weather is very pleasant and warm and it is much quieter than in the peak season. The Old Town is small and best explored on foot. We have a few guides if you would like to learn more about the history, otherwise go ahead and explore it at your own pace. Walking the Walls (the path that goes around the Fortress) is highly recommended, it takes up to 2 hours so plan it for the late afternoon when the light is at its best (the best time to take photographs as well). The views from the Walls onto the Old Town are stunning, the red roof tiles, the church bells, the domes. Seeing all this will transport you to a different world. The Dominican Monastery, The Sveti Vlaho church and the Old Pharmacy are also worth a visit. The Rector's Palace with its courtyard is the landmark of Dubrovnik. Once you absorbed the stunning sites, walk up to top of the Old Town and on your left hand side you will find a small door that takes you out of the Fortress, there you will find 'Buza' (translated to a whole in the wall), a scruffy bar that offers the best sunset.
