A yacht charter tandem is getting more and more popular and here we share a few tips to consider when chartering two yachts. 

Consider chartering similar size yachts, if you charter a small and a large yacht the party will be able to stay on one yacht only. This is not a huge problem but it will take a toll on the crew and the chef if you eat on one yacht. The yachts also charge something called APA which is an upfront payment to cover food and drinks. If you would be eating most of the meals on one yacht, the APA for one yacht might be higher whereas the other yacht will not use up the APA. If you are two or three families sharing, it would be useful to conisder the same level of comfort so you charter a similar yacht in the same price bracket. Captains and crew will be able to work together but ask if the yachts are happy with a tandem, some of the yacht do not wish to do a tandem. The water toys might not be available on both of the yachts and due to the insurance you will not be able to use the water toys from the other yacht. You also need to consider a good crew who know the area quite well and have connections in the ports and marinas so they can secure a berth next to each other for the evenings and during the day.
