Sail Dalmatia in Press

This week's dream: Sailing among the islands of Northern Dalmatia, The Week, July 2010

Spend a few days sailing around the wild islands and 'calm turquoise bays' of northern Dalmatia and you will have a true respite from the outside world', says Claire Wrathall.

European sailing holidays, The Telegraph, 19 June, 2010

One of the best travel writers in the UK, Francesca Syz, suggests four of the best sailing holidays in Europe including Sail Dalmatia! 'The excellent new yacht charter company Sail Dalmatia is run by the dynamic young sailing fanatic Dora Vulic. Croatian born, London-based Vulic knows the British market like the back of her hand, and also has the benefit of knowing most of the yacht owners in Croatia personally'

'The deserted bays of Kornati', Financial Times, 12 June 2010

Claire Wrathall from the Financial Times was our guest on the 33m Schooner Fortuna. 'Fortuna, which was moored on the same quay. Not that sleeping on board was ever a challenge on this supremely comfortable 14-berth yacht. Of its seven ship-shape cabins, all decked out in navy and off-white, two had standard double beds, while those in the stern had mattresses more than 2m wide. All had en-suite shower rooms, miracles of compactness with plentiful hot water and proper pressure'

'Sea of Knowledge', Food and Travel, May 2010

Gabriella Le Breton takes you to the best historical sites of Croatia for the May issue of Food and Travel. 'Feast like an emperor under the vaults of a Roman palace then hop onboard the luxury 54ft yacht Sun Odyssey from Split to sail Croatia’s stunning Dalmatian Coast in style. What could be more in keeping with Roman decadence than that? Sleeping just eight guests, with a skipper on request, Sail Dalmatia’s ‘Central Dalmatia’ sailing itinerary starts in Split, dropping anchor at the islands of Brac, Vis and Hvar.'

Galesnjak a true romantic escape? The Independent, 13 February 2010

Sophie Lam's suggestion to spend a romatic weekend on the heart shaped island Galesnjak in the Adriatic can be seen in the Independent this Saturday. A blip on the map of Croatia was recently revealed by Google Earth to be a diminutive heart-shaped island called Galesnjak, just off the island of Pasman. Uninhabited and barely half a kilometre in diameter, the only way to get to this privately owned isle is by chartered boat, with permission from the owner. Sail Dalmatia has liaised with the owner to offer a special and truly luxurious package for the ultimate romantic escape.

'Earthy Food' Neofile, The Sunday Times, 5 July 2009

Murvica, the new “eco-restaurant” near the Croatian holiday hot spot of Zadar, has been an unlikely hit. Why unlikely? Well, it serves earthworm soup, deep-fried earthworms and earthworm cheesecake. Steve Bleach's column has been spiced with a Sail Dalmatia's earthworm package.

'Real luxury: 18 unique travel experiences, The Sunday Times, 21 June  2009

Make your holiday extraordinary with our once-in-a-lifetime add-on - Susan d'Arcy opens her little brag book and suggests one of Sail Dalmatia's sailing holidays to Croatia. Staying on a private island is cool. When it’s in trendy Croatia, it’s even cooler — and when the isle is also home to one of the Adriatic’s best beaches, and involves sleeping in a 19th-century lighthouse from which you can see both the Italian and the Croatian coastline, you really can lord it over your neighbours ad infinitum.

'Lazy sailing Croatia' The Guardian, 13 June 2009

If you love the idea of exploring Croatia's islands by sea but don't want to lift a finger doing so, this is the trip for you. Sail Dalmatia's expert crews know this stretch of coast like the back of their rope-callused hands. Join the skippered Sun Odyssey, a sleek but snug 32ft yacht, sailing the southern Croatian Adriatic and Montenegrin coasts, starting from Dubrovnik and travelling to Kotor via Perast, and you will have all the time in the world to sit back and enjoy the spectacular seascapes.
